My Oldest Friend Joins! Woo hoo!
Gruntinator and I have been friends since high school, and I guess that makes him my Official Longest-Term Friend. He and I went through a lot of phases of personal evolution together in a short time during our teenage years. And then in early adulthood our stories were also strikingly similar, though we spent those years in separate parts of the world, for the most part (excepting a cool 3 month period of sharing an apartment together near our home town). Since then, we've drifted apart somewhat both in what we've spent our time doing, and in how much staying in touch we've done.
I sent him my LJ link because I'd been missing him a lot over the past few years and thought it would be a good way for him to catch up with what's been going on with me. A secondary motivation was the hope that he'd get to read (and enjoy) thoughts from a lot of my current friends. A third motivation was the hope he'd want to start a journal of his own, so I could start seeing what's going on with him more.
Much to my satisfaction, but not much to my surprise, he started a journal right away.
I guess there no sense trying to sell this LJ thing. This baby sells itself.
